Adult Classes

Check out some of the great adult classes available at Letterkenny Community Centre

LCC Classes

The following seven LCC classes are included in our Gym & Classes Membership or cost €6 per class to non-members.

1. Tums & Bums – Tues & Thurs 6:15pm – 7:00pm

A body toning class incorporating all the core muscle groups including standing and floor based exercises and finishing with tai chi stretching.

2. Morning Movers – Tues & Thurs 9:45am – 10:45am

Come along to this fun and friendly class. Meet new friends and get a great workout as well. This class is just what it says, it is a mixture of all types of exercises, very effective and loads of fun.

3. Circuits – Mon, Wed 6:00pm – 7:00pm

The ultimate all-round workout incorporating both aerobic and strength training. A variety of different exercises that will get you fit and in shape.

4. Core Conditioning – Fri 6:00pm – 7:00pm

The ultimate all round workout incorporating both aerobic and strength training. A variety of different exercises that will get you fit and in shape.

 

5. Lunchtime HIIT Class – Tue & Wed 1:00pm – 1:30pm

Intense half hour workout conveniently scheduled during lunchtime. 

Senior Classes

All our Senior Classes are priced at €3 per class and are availabe to over 50’s.

Better Lung Classes (Rehab Group)

Mondays and Fridays 11:15am – 12 noon.

Exercise & Socialise

Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:15am – 12 noon.

Battle Core

Battle Core – Mon 6:15pm & Wed 6:15pm

NOTE: Not currently running due to COVID-19 Restrictons!

High-intensity cardio workout, which targets abs and core and helps with body toning.

Designed to improve your cardio, burn fat, work your core and overall strength.

These classes are not included in the LCC Membership.

Running

Build up your stamina and be able to complete a 5k.

Entry Requirements

Couch to 5K – Mon, Tues & Thurs 6:30pm

(Keep an eye on Facebook or our Whats On? Section to know when a new  8 week course is about to begin!)

In 8 weeks you will be amazed by what you achieve and you can do a full 5k. New runners can attend any of the first few weeks of the term.

Adults: €3 a class or €60 for a 8 week course.

13-18 year olds: €2

Under 12’s: Free

Run For Fun – Mon, Tues & Thurs 7:10pm

Suitable for Couch to 5K Graduates.

€3 per class.

Martial Arts

Kickboxing – Wed 7:00pm – 8:30pm

The Donegal Kickboxing Club is taught by Renshi Josie Murray.

Kickboxing is a stand-up combat sport based on punching and kicking. This class is excellent for those who want to train for competition, self-defense or even just general fitness.

Jiu Jitsu – Wed 8:30pm – 10:00pm

Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and self-defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. Jiu Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique and leverage. The Donegal Jiu-Jitsu Federation classes are taught by Renshi Josie Murray who is a 5th Dan Black Belt in Jikishin Jiu Jitsu and who is also affiliated to the world famous Gracie Jiu-Jitsu family in Brazil. The 1595 Fencing Club – Tue 8:00pm-10:00pm

Historical European Martial Arts
Entry requirements: 16 years old and up


The 1595 Club is a martial arts school dedicated to the practice and study of the fighting arts of Europe. The club’s approach to the art of Fence offers:

• A full martial system: ranging from unarmed combat to the study and practice of historical weapons. (unarmed not currently running due to COVID-19 restrictions)

• The study of authentic swordsmanship and the art of arms

.• A practical and effective form of self-defence.

• The promotion and philosophy of respect and goodwill.

Dancing

Start on the right step and join one of these dance classes that will teach you everything you need to know.

Line Dancing – Adults €6, Children €3 

Mon 8:00pm – 9:00pm (Adv)

Tues 8:00pm – 9:00pm(Imp)

Thurs 8.00pm – 9.00pm(Beg)

Senior Line Dancing – €3 per person

Mon 12:30pm – 1:30pm

Line Dancing is a fun and easy way to learn a dance style that requires no partner. It’s a fantastic way to keep fit and a relaxed social night out. Dance to predominantly country music, it’s the alternative that’s suitable for all ages and abilities. Cost €6 per adult or €3 for children, children must be accompanied by an adult. Beginner Social/Jiving Dancing Classes

Wed 8:00pm-9:00pm

Four week course. Starts Wednesday 23rd of February and will be on between 8:00pm and 9:00pm every Wednesday until the 16th of March. Each class costs €10 per couple. And the same partner is required throughout the the whole course.
