Adult Classes

All LCC Classes are €5 pay as you go. Please note which classes are included in the Gym & Classes Membership. All classes are open to non members too.

LCC Classes

The following six LCC classes are included in our Gym & Classes Membership

1. Tums & Bums – Tues & Thurs 6:15pm – 7:15pm

A body toning class incorporating all the core muscle groups including standing and floor based exercises and finishing with tai chi stretching.

2. Zumba – Tues & Thurs 7:00pm – 8:00pm

NOTE: Not currently running due to COVID-19 Restrictons!

This class is full of dance moves from both Latin and modern music, loose your inhibitions and let the music lead you. Great way to lose 100’s of calories without realizing it.

3. Morning Movers – Tues & Thurs 9:45am – 10:45am

Come along to this fun and friendly class. Meet new friends and get a great workout as well. This class is just what it says, it is a mixture of all types of exercises, very effective and loads of fun.

4. Circuits – Mon, Wed & Fri 6pm – 7pm

The ultimate all-round workout incorporating both aerobic and strength training. A variety of different exercises that will get you fit and in shape.

5. 20/20/20- Mon & Wed 7:15pm-8:15pm

NOTE: Not currently running due to COVID-19 Restrictons!

A mix of exercises tailored to workout every muscle. This exercise will help you strengthen and tone all your muscles.

6. Core Conditioning – Fri 6:15pm – 7:15pm (Inc. in Gym & Classes Membership)

The ultimate all round workout incorporating both aerobic and strength training. A variety of different exercises that will get you fit and in shape.

Online- Self Service Booking System

During the upcoming weeks we will be rolling out an online self-service booking system. This will be open to both members and pay-as-you go customers. Please not that if you are a existing or past member you will need to contact reception even if you have already provided us with you email address. To try to set it up yourself will lead to a duplicate account on our system which will not hold your membership details. New members can go ahead and set up their memberships on the system and report to reception upon their first visit in order to be given their sign-in key-ring.

Battle Core

High-intensity cardio workout, which targets abs and core and helps with body toning.

Designed to improve your cardio, burn fat, work your core and overall strength.

These classes are not included in the LCC Membership.

Zumba

NOTE: Not currently running due to COVID-19 Restrictons!

Zumba takes the “work” out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party.

Entry Requirements

No previous experience needed.

Class Frequency

Tuesday 6:15pm

These classes are not included in the LCC Membership.

Running

Build up your stamina and be able to complete a 5k.

Entry Requirements

Couch to 5K – Mon, Tues & Thurs 6:30pm

In 8 weeks you will be amazed by what you achieve and you can do a full 5k. New runners can attend any of the first few weeks of the term.

Run For Fun – Mon, Tues & Thurs 7:10pm

Suitable for Couch to 5K Graduates.

Martial Arts

Choose from a number of different forms of martial arts that can be used to advance through training, self-defense or fitness.

The Donegal Kickboxing Club is taught by Renshi Josie Murray.

Kickboxing is a stand-up combat sport based on punching and kicking. This class is excellent for those who want to train for competition, self-defense or even just general fitness.

Jiu Jitsu – Wed 9:00pm – 11:00pm & Thu 7.30pm – 9pm

Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and self-defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. Jiu Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique and leverage. The Donegal Jiu-Jitsu Federation classes are taught by Renshi Josie Murray who is a 5th Dan Black Belt in Jikishin Jiu Jitsu and who is also affiliated to the world famous Gracie Jiu-Jitsu family in Brazil. Pilates/Meditation

Recommences Tuesday the 21st of September 2021

A number of different classes that will improve your flexibility, help with movement, fitness and body toning. Choose a class that will suit your skill level. All welcome.

Entry Requirements

Tai Chi – €8 per class or €60 for 10 lessons

Pilates with Aine – €55 for six-week course

Pilates with Aine

There has been an explosion in the popularity of Pilates in recent years and the Community Centre is pleased to offer courses in this highly sought after activity. Excellent for strengthening the core muscles which will boost your entire body. Courses are ongoing throughout the year and last for 6 weeks for €55. Contact Aine on 087 6335230 for booking info. Please do not drop in as we may not be able to accomodate you and don’t want you to be disappointed if you show up and there is no room for you!

Tai Chi Mon 8:00pm – 8:50pm & Tue 10:00am – 10:50am

Originating in ancient China, tai chi is one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body. Although an art with great depth of knowledge and skill, it can be easy to learn and soon delivers its health benefits. For many, it continues as a lifetime journey.

Qi Gong Wed 7pm

€8.00 per Class or €50 for 6 weeks

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing and movement exercises.

Line Dancing is a fun and easy way to learn a dance style that requires no partner. It’s a fantastic way to keep fit and a relaxed social night out. Dance to predominantly country music, it’s the alternative that’s suitable for all ages and abilities. Cost €5 per person. For more details telephone 087 6277387.

Ballroom Dancing – Thur 8:30pm – 10:00pm

Learn the waltz, jive, cha cha cha and all the other classic ballroom dances with champion dancer Robert in a relaxed atmosphere. Beginners to advanced welcome. For more information telephone 085 8285463.

Ballroom and Social Dancing – Ballroom Sunday 7:00pm to 8:00pm and Jiving Sunday 8:00pm to 9:00pm. €5 per class.
